ABOUT
Mary Laine has lived and travelled in many countries of the world including Europe, Asia, The United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She holds a degree in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, but has been cultivating an art education her whole life through mentors and universities. She officially made the change from poet to professional artist in 1993 and has been practicing and exhibiting her work since then.
Mary has worked with and explored many media including, but not exclusive to, clay, welded metal, glass, textile arts, and mixed media (such as paper, wire and found objects), as well as a wide
variety of paints such as acrylics, oils and watercolours. She is most recently known for her Burtonesque dolls and marionettes.
Mary is currently living and working in New Zealand.
